PRINCE GEORGE (NEWS 1130) – Gas prices have been edging downward across BC, but the lowest fuel prices in the province can be found in Prince George.
One station in that city lists regular fuel at 85.9 cents per litre. That’s about 20 cents lower than prices in Vancouver.
Prince George doesn’t have the additional transit taxes imposed on Metro Vancouver drivers, and is home to one of two refineries, so gas doesn’t have to travel far to the pumps.
But number-crunchers also say even Prince George gas prices are high compared to Alberta or other parts of Canada, with average BC gas prices still the highest in the country.
