VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – While gas prices dropped below a dollar last March, now it looks like we’re headed in a different direction.
Prices have gone up two to three cents over the past week, and we’re now seeing around $1.50 per litre in some parts of Metro Vancouver.
One economist at UBC believes you can blame the supply. Werner Antweiler says OPEC is coming out of a “price war” that it has been in for the last year.
Meantime, GasBuddy believes the winter storm in Texas has contributed to higher prices around here.
“A new driver will take over the driver’s seat in the weeks ahead, and that’s the fact that gasoline demand is very much picking up steam,” said Patrick De Haan with GasBuddy.
