VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – We haven’t seen gas prices drop this much, this fast in about a decade. Prices at Metro Vancouver pumps are set to go down five more cents per litre Friday, on top of the 10 cent drop Thursday.
Dan McTeague with Gas Price Wizard says Friday is the day to fill up.
“If you’re not happy with 143.9 this morning at most gas stations here in Metro Vancouver, then wait until tomorrow where the top price will only be 138.9,” he says.
“10 plus five in the span of 48 hours – a 15 cent decrease is pretty much historical. You probably have to go back 11 years to see the last time we saw prices drop in one day by that amount.”
McTeague says the drop is happening because concerns about refineries and pipelines stateside have blown over.
“The U.S.’ tight gasoline supply situation appears to have been completely corrected. There isn’t a real concern that there was at the end of September and throughout much of October.”
He predicts gas prices will hover around the 140 mark for most of November.
