VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Gas prices have dropped since 2018 for every province – except British Columbia.
Dan McTeague with GasBuddy.com says there’s been no movement since this time last year.
“The only solutions that are out there is to recognize where the problems are. And one of them of course is a shortage in the ability to bring in your own fuel that is not just oil but gasoline,” McTeague says. “With an oversubscribed Trans Mountain pipeline, over-reliance on external sources from the United States.”

He says Albertans are seeing the biggest change at the pump, with a drop of 21 per cent, making gas prices much cheaper than B.C.
“You’re paying a lot because you also have North America’s highest taxes, let’s not kid ourselves,” McTeague says. “You’re also extremely reliant on the pipeline, which can only deliver so much fuel.”
